ms*louisa's wedding ~ August 2
over the weekend ms*louisa and her betrothed *garth* came over and we chatted about wedding music ~ what music to have when walking into the reception * when they cut the cake * throwing the garter & for the bridal 'waltz' ( more like shuffle)
here is a list of songs that they have chosen to be played at various times during the reception:
Amazing - Alex Lloyd
She - Charles Aznovour
L.O.V.E - Nat King Cole
Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers
Dream a Little Dream of Me - Mama's and Papa's
Make Someone Happy - Jimmy Durante
I've Got You Under My Skin - Frank Sinatra
Dreams - The Cranberries
Only You - The Platters
Woman - John Lennon
Everlasting Love - ?

Another great wedding song is by Mariah Carey & Luther Vandross called "endless love" - have you heard it?
I don't think I have. thanks Amy, I will let ms*louisa know or maybe she will read the blog
What happened to "here comes the bride" that was the only tune ever played at weddings in years gone by? Or am I showing my age...:(
I think I had the traditional wedding march played when I walked down the aisle 11 years ago but if I had the choice to do it again I think I'd choose a victorian, medieval or scottish theme with the music to go with it. There's so much more that people can choose from these days which is a good thing I think...
My best friend chose "Ava Maria", sung acapella by a pal with a rich baritone voice. Sent chills down my spine....it was an outdoor garden wedding and was surrealistic!

thanks for the comments everyone!
the music 'pachabels canon' is being played by a harpist & flautist. gorgeous.
by the way, I removed a comment by anonymous, even though it said they loved my blog..it had a link to a car site...not very vintage * so its gone
Sounds like they have a gorgeous selection ~ and I'm sure it suits & means something special to them.
My daughter (ShellyC from ShellsandBeans) was married at home and had Canon playing softly in the background during the service. It was beautiful.
Several years ago, when she was working in Florida, I found a CD of Canon which included sounds of the sea. I posted it to her, without telling her about it, and on the day that she received it I received the exact same CD from her. How is that for telepathy? I have it playing as I write this (can you hear it? lol)
It sounds like you are having a great time organising this wedding.
It sounds like its going to be a very special wedding!!
