weekend musings

what a wonderful weekend it has been! After the florist visit, we went to a local pub for lunch. I decided on potato rosti topped with prawns. Yummy ! then we came home and I spent the afternoon reading Harry Potter.... and then we went to a 60th birthday dinner for Joes' brother. What a gourmet meal that was. Prawn & smoked salmon pasta for an entree...main meal was chicken breast cooked in a mustard sauce with cashew nuts and dessert was a wicked brandy custard & raspberry concoction. I came home feeling like an overstuffed wombat. What about the wedding dress that I have to fit into in October? So I got up early this morning and went for a long walk. The mornings are delightful right now...sunny but nice and cool. Daffodils are starting to spring up from the ground & the wattle is in flower. Spring must be just around the corner ! Then I came home, had a nice healthy breakfast and spent the day in the garden. I then went for another walk.
Dinner is in the oven and I am off to bed early tonight !

Well your weekend does sound a treat! All that delicious food and your walks and gardening sound just perfect. Just this week I noticed all the pretty daffodils in people's gardens and as for the golden wattle (Australia's Floral Emblem), I am gob-smacked! Our driveway is lined with them and they are the most glorious site...can you believe that it is the first time in my life that I have seen them in bloom *and I am in love with them!* I have a crystal vase on the dining table bursting in yellow and I went crazy with my camera capturing their vibrancy.

oh dear, ms*kali..don't smell the wattle too closely, it is no.1 hayfever culprit. I am actually dreading when it is in full bloom.. I suffer dreadfully from it.
I do agree though, it is the most gorgeous sight when the trees are in full bloom
