here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

housekeeping

a lot of people out there in blogworld seem to be decluttering ! I have been decluttering for a few months now..... my mind was like a mixed up jigsaw puzzle... so much 'junk' around my house was sending me near insane. So I started slowly decluttering. As I am a hoarder at heart, I took it slowly. Each week as I did my housework, I would tidy a little more. Putting stuff I no longer wanted * either in a bag for the op shops or in a box for my daughters to go through. My house is starting to look so much neater.
As I have said many times * I have a routine with my housekeeping * I recommend routine * each morning, I do a certain chore * same day - same chore * I spend an hour or two and its done. Afternoons to do as I please ~ weekends no special chores ~ just tidying, cooking & gardening * or nothing at all.
Then in spring - I do a thorough spring clean * major housekeeping ~ washing windows * washing winter blankets * things that only really need to be done once or twice a year.
Maybe I am obsessive * who knows * but that is ME !

NO way, you are not obsessive. I find that if I don't keep on top of daily cleaning around the house then it tends to look like a pigsty by the end of the week. Go for it!

After spending an enjoyable evening reading your archives I have my cleaning schedule all lined out for each day.I have some great decorating ideals and great recipes. Thank you! Now if I just had a magic wand to get the repair and remodeling done my world would be perfect! Have a great day

Decluttering? Oh, I know I need to but I seem to love the sweet treasures that surround me and have trouble putting them away. I have a few pics of my house on my blog and, as you can see, it is NOT uncluttered....but it makes me smile. :-)
I do wish I could get into a routine as you have. It just never seems to work....or maybe it is ME that doesn't work! I get side-tracked. So many "things" to distract me! Ah well, maybe one day....

Thats a good post. I like the part about doing the same thing at the same time each a.m. and having the afternoon free. That very thing has been in the back of my mind for a long time!

Sounds great in theory, especially for those who don't go outside the home to work, but in my case, when I have cleaned three houses in one day, as well as done a couple of loads of washing, and a week's shopping - all this for other people! do you think I could bear to come home and start on my house? No way! So I cram my own housework all into one of my free days (Tuesday or Thursday) when I am not out and about with my friends.
One day I hope to retire and be able to set myself a nice leisurely routine like yours...sigh..
