Name:
Location: Katoomba, NSW, Australia

here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

Plan ahead and dream of all the beautiful things that life has to offer

*aprons*

I love vintage aprons and have a few in my cabinet drawer that I like to use. Sometimes I sell one or two on ebay..... seems that there are lots of apron lovers out there....or is that the collectable of the month? I have been collecting them since...forever and my favourites are the simple home made ones......used alot by some other vintage lady from a different era
I love to put my vintage pinny on, turn up the Edith Piaf and cook up storm. Nothing that I collect is just on show * it is all used and loved * if it breaks ~ so be it * I will have fun finding another.
I have added favourite apron links to the side bar * have a peek when you have time

I've never seen so many aprons sites as are about now. The one you shared is super. Just fun stuff to look at.

All this talk about aprons in recent weeks made me start making them again for the market stall Michelle and I run each month. She makes bags and I've been making dolls' clothes and knitting wrist warmers. My brother gave me an apron for my 17th birthday and I just loved it. Very simple but quite attractive because it uses both patterned and plain contrasting fabric. I should have over 30 ready for the next market. I'll put some photos up soon. My daughter in Qld recently asked me to make her some full ones because she gets messy when she cooks. I said that that was a bit strange - I only get messy when I eat!

I'm not really into Edith Piaf but I do have some of my late grandmother's aprons from the 1940's and 1950's. They are very precious as well as being awesome to use.

yep - I'm another vintage apron lover ~ and have fond memories of Mum and her Mum wearing them in the kitchen everyday...if I was helping out, I'd get to pick one to wear as well.

You may have seen me in one of my favourite embroidered aprons, on Amy's Tie One On blog? Yup, I love 'em too - and like you, I wear and use as much of my vintage linen as I can at one time. I will be taking two aprons with me to the Antiques Roadshow - one with a 1930's vintage Miss Australia stitched on it, and the other possibly the one I am wearing in the photo.
