Location: Katoomba, NSW, Australia

here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day * the day before the beginning of Lent * I always make these pancakes for dinner on Shrove Tuesday - then we decide what we are 'giving up for lent'. I know its an out-dated tradition but I like to do it - makes me reflect on my life over the journey through lent to Easter. I have also decided to stick to the old Catholic tradition of fish on Fridays during lent.
This year I have chosen to give up dessert. yikes! tonight after dinner, I am going to go and buy myself a tub of Homer Hudson icecream as a last hurrah.
Playing Gregorian chants right now - how Catholic is that! gorgeous and reflective

Ash Wednesday...what will I give up to recall the footsteps of these next forty days. What will I "DO" to encourage me to be more like him? I am glad to know you will be walking the lenten path too!
