housekeeping
the beginning of the New Year - no work at all done on my birthday & Jan 2nd this year was a public holiday here....so I start my housekeeping today and lots to catch up on as I haven't really done any cleaning at all since before Christmas ! shame on me..... so I am actually really looking forward to getting my pink gloves on, rolling up the sleeves and getting stuck into a mini spring clean [is that sad?] * I am going to strip the sheets on our bed * let the bed air all day while I give both bathrooms a good scrub. Once that is done I am going to smudge the rooms with a sage stick - it is something I like to do each New Year. I guess you could think that I sound like a bit of a nutter ! I have no idea why I do this, I just like the ceremonial ritual I guess. Many cultures & religions have used herbs for hundreds of years to clear negativity and 'evil spirits' and I like to think I am clearing the space from all last years negative stuff to make room for the wonderfully simple year that I am going to have. You know, I am actually feeling very excited about this year - I am truly looking forward to getting my house in to order, getting all the hand washing done & puttering. I can't wait to start my gratitude journal all over & have just started my illustrated discovery journal - what a fun year this will be !

I can always count on your blog to help me find my comfort zone in my daily life. As I cleanI will be doing a mental cleaning as well to get rid of stress, grief and odd thoughts cluttering my mind.... Have a great day
What is an illustrated discovery jounal? That sounds so nice. I have noticed a long strand of a cobweb here in the computer room..they always amaze me with thier presence...like how do they get there. One swipe of the broom and it will be no longer...*smile*. I only get to scrubbing up when its sunshiny and I can see all the dust, then the urge to clean is in full force for me. Hope you have a wonderful day!
I've decided it's just too hot to get to a good scrubbing, so am just doing the bare minimum I can get away with for now :)
I'm heading out next week on a Gratitude Journal hunt - I can't wait! I'm looking forward to a simply abundant year too.

what is a discovery journal?? Remember that kindered spirits memory tree you had, well I did something with the pic of it and put it in my journal too, I'll put it up in a post on blog soon. hang on better take a photo of it...oh love th ebckaground to your blog too!
housekeeping is one of my hidden talents... so hidden, it is very hard to find usually...

Robyn, I don't think you a nutter at all. I too enjoy doing small things like that. You should think of it as a blessing that you can enjoy the simple things in life instead of running around like a person with no roots to hold them still.
And it's belate as I haven't been around for awhile as I took a break to be with my children for the holidays ~~~ Happy, Happy Birthday!
Incense is absolutely fabulous. It works fabulously to perk myself up, a good ol' bit of Nag Champa :-)
