this last day of 2005
so tonight we go to a friend's home for dinner - he puts on a lovely sit down 3 course dinner with dessert being served at around 11pm. Then we chat and wait til 12am January 1st & he has a dark haired man (who is known as the first footer), knock at his front door bearing gifts of coal & whiskey * this being an old Scottish custom supposedly to bring good luck.
"Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?
Should auld
acquaintance be forgot and auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear, for
auld lang syne,
We'll take a cup o kindness yet, for auld lang syne."
and with that my friends I hope you have a wonderful New years Eve !

Sounds wonderful. I hope you have a delightfully memorable evening, and a wonderfully simple year to follow.
Love always - Alice
Happy New Year my friend. The grandkids think its unfair that you get New Years before they do LOL. They are anxious to start their party. Have a wonderful 2006!
A lovely way to see out the old and the new one in...I hope you have a wonderful evening and a wonderful 2006.

Oh, that sounds like such fun! What a marvellous way to see in the New Year. I'll be spending new years eve at Ben's oma and opa's 60th wedding anniversary - how sweet!
It is hot, unbearably hot - it hasn't reached the 40's yet in sunny brisbane but the humidity is unbearable. I can hardly move for the film of sweat that constantly covers me from head to toe. Ick - I wish I was going on a cruise. Lovely ocean breezes and days lazing away at the side of the pool. Sounds divine.
Happy Birthday for tomorrow! You'll see me in the mail very soon! =)
Happy New Year ms*robyn
