here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

vintage gardening

my weekends are usually put aside for spending long times in the garden. Winter is a little hard to do this but today I am buying a few bags of mushroom compost to use for mulching my vegie garden. Getting it ready for early spring planting in a month or two.
I am also going to start putting seeper hoses throughout the garden, so will do one garden bed today...hopefully by late spring, all my gardens will have one.
I hope to get to a nursery, to buy some seedlings and to look at what potatoes they have in stock so far.

Yes I too love some of the old cottage garden type plans that are rare these days. Near where we live there is a garden centre that sells only heirloom plants and seeds especially for old fashioned fruit trees and vegetables.

I'm sure you'll be pleased with the dripper hoses. It's amazing how such a small amount of water applied drip by drip to the ground can soak in so far and provide all the water needed. Good luck with your spring vegies.

You have made my day. I just came in from the watering my veg garden in the heat of our summer. I thought I would read some blogs while I cooled off and yours was perfect! Had to read everything and am in love with your garden and way of living. Thanks for sharing. Peggy
