the oh dear start to my day

ok, had a shower...cup of tea and put a load of washing on. Then I walked around my garden for a few mins....a bad start to the day this morning. You know? One of those days when you haven't slept all night because of possums having a party on the roof, so you get up and all you see is where you have unpacked the china cabinet, to move it and were too tired last night to repack, so here it is all on the floor still waiting for you to do it. The fire didnt stay alight over night so the house is quite chilly... no chicken feed left, so you have to raid the pantry to feed them.... Mt Never End is in the laundry waiting .... and you go to get your underwear out of the drawer and you pull the whole drawer out and it falls with a crash to the floor..and of course you have to pick it all up.

so like I said......a walk around the garden, did wonders.... I feel a little better

I know those days. I had one yesterday, although it was half self induced as I indulged a little at the tavern the night before (yesterday was a public holiday here). Still, sometimes it is the combination of things that makes the day seem grumpy. For example having a sore head, and a messy home, a cat that wakes you at the crack of dawn and no milk in the fridge for your morning cuppa - arghhh!!!! =)

I had one of those days, yesterday. It seemed the more frustrated I became the worse it was going. Thanks for the laugh when I read your cute saying "Possums having a party on the roof" I needed that.

So glad you're feeling better. Sometimes, in the morning, all I need to do is get to moving and things perk up.

Have a great rest of the day, as I wind mine down!

I love that Jane Austin quote in your sidebar...."There's nothing like staying home for real comfort"...isn't it the truth though! It sounds like your day got off to a rocky start, did you feel defeated or did you crack the whip so to speak and marshall those things into thier place? I think I know the answer but its great of you to share that so we know others go thru frustrating moments at times too. Don't we all!

oh those days are bad! I get them a lot. I hope yours goes quickly enough.

I'm with you on the housework thing, I don't hate it but I do hate it if I don't do it and it gets *really* bad. Flylady has helped me to keep on top of it all...dolly x

"Possums having a party on the roof" was not just a saying before I moved to my current home from where I lived in the south. I actually would HAVE possums on my roof! I had a pecan tree just outside my patio door. The limbs hung over the roof line and those nasty, ugly possums would climb the tree and go on my roof.....why, I don't know. They are ugly prehistoric creatures anyway so they were probably just confused. As for your flumpy day........ah, I have more of those than I wish to even think about. It is my own fault.....I have my fingers stirring in too many projects at once and nothing ever gets finished. I used to have a refigerator magnet that read, "Boring women have immaculate homes."
I must be one of the most exciting women I know..........
