here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

housekeeping ~ August 12

do you ever have days, when you wake up and realize that your house is *OUT OF CONTROL* ? well, today is one of those days for me. Oh, I know I have an excuse for it being totally disgusting but that doesn't help the demented feeling that I have right now. Most of the house is clean and tidy but my kitchen, dear readers ~ oh my, too messy for words...the dishwasher needs to be put on two days ago... washing up is on the sink...floor needs washing & serious scrubbing of my benches needs to be done..... oh and the fridge ? Well there is stuff in there, that I swear was put there at Christmas......during this past week, I have only superficially looked after my home....so today - it's on with my rubber gloves...lots of hot water, detergent and peppermint oil and scrub a dub, dub!

What a shame we don't live closer - I would come over and do all your housework for you, Robyn. I do it for a living (mostly for old and disabled people) but I also do my friend's homes when something has turned their life upside down temporarily, as yours has. I hope your Rob is improving day by day, and that he will do the right thing by himself and take this time out to recuperate properly, not go rushing back to work or anything else, before his body has healed.
Thanks for your comments on Patra's Place about the Roadshow - I got so many, I am hopping about the blogs, acknowledging each person!

I'm not familiar with using peppermint oil. Please share what you use it on...I can imagine how wonderful it smells though!

Housework never minds waiting, it keeps well : ). I'm sure you are doing the specially important things in your life just now. Hope your husbands surgery went well and he is starting to mend. You must be so tired with all thats happened lately. Saying a prayer for you and yours.

I read or heard a saying some where that went something like this:

"My house is clean enough to be hygenic, but messy enough to be comfortable."

I just keep saying that eveyday when my house looks like a bomb hit it...hehehehe. It is so nice to read that other bloggers also have houses and days like I do.
